Milli Mejlis Extraordinary Session to Respond to European Parliament
An extraordinary session of the Milli Mejlis has been scheduled for September 14. The reason for the immediate session is the resolution of the European Parliament adopted yesterday.
The agenda of the session includes one question – attitude to the resolution of the European Parliament, an MP told Turan.
Formally the session will be held at the initiative of the MPs. However, the order probably came from the presidential administration and the MPs have been hastily recalled from their vacations.
Recall that yesterday the European Parliament took an unprecedented tough resolution on the situation of human rights in Azerbaijan. For the first time it raised the question of sanctions against judges and politicians involved in the persecution of citizens for political reasons. In addition, the European Parliament called on the EU External Action Service and the Member States not to send observers to the parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan on November 1. -03C06-
