Mnatsakanyan ruled out peaceful solution to conflict with Azerbaijan
Baku / 05.11.20 / Turan: About seventy representatives of the Armenian intelligentsia made an appeal to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and the people of Armenia, urging, "To abandon all differences and take steps to achieve the victory of the Armenian people."
They presented concrete proposals: “To discuss all possible solutions, including the formation of a special military-political body envisaged by the legislation of Armenia and endowed with clear powers,” the “Hraparak” newspaper (Yerevan) reported.
This is the second appeal to the Prime Minister, after about 10 days ago 16 extra-parliamentary parties came up with a proposal to create a military-political headquarters to save Armenia. Then this proposal remained unanswered by the government.
Then the Dashnaktsutyun party initiated a meeting with representatives of the intelligentsia. After that, the text of the appeal was unanimously drawn up and sent to other parties with a proposal to join the statement.
In turn, the Armenian government announced that it was preparing emergency measures to overcome the disastrous situation in Karabakh. In the very near future, Armenia will announce concrete results of the fight against international terrorism, Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan said today in parliament (in Armenian political vocabulary international terrorism is called Azerbaijan's war for the liberation of the occupied territories).
“The fight against international terrorism is one of our priorities. The work is coordinated in bilateral and international formats. A system of dialogue has been built, and very soon it will be possible to more specifically state the work done,” Mnatsakanyan said.
The minister actually ruled out a peaceful resolution of the conflict with Azerbaijan, stressing, “The current situation further emphasizes this priority; namely, Nagorno-Karabakh has no future within Azerbaijan, has not and will not have. The future within Azerbaijan means “Artsakh without Armenians”. This will not happen,” Mnatsakanyan said. -0-
