MPs extend powers of judges without debate
Today’s session of the Parliament extended the terms of power some of the judges, which expires on January 2, 2013.
According to the chairman of the parliamentary committee on legal policy Ali Huseynli, nominations of judges of the Supreme Court Islam Aliyev and Ilham Jafarov, a judge of the Supreme Court of Nakhchivan, Ilgar Mirzoyev, and judge of the Court of Appeal of Sumgait, Huseyn Nabiyev, need no discussion.
"From my experience in the Judicial Council, I know that they are one of the most honest and fair. Besides, the President, presented their candidates for approval to the Supreme Court," said the deputy. The power of these deputies was extended without any discussion. --17D—
