Local communications satellite is ready for delivery to the launch site
Yesterday the National Aviation Academy of Azerbaijan held its third meeting on space issues.

As previously reported by Turan, the satellite Azerspace-1 will be delivered to Kourou (north-east of South America, French Guiana) in late December. Its launch is scheduled for mid-February presumably next year.
The satellite manufacturer is Orbital Sciences Corporation (USA). Long-term lease with the Malaysian company MEASAT about using the orbital position of the satellite communications Azerspace-1 in orbital equipment operation will be carried out over 20 years. The costs will be paid off in about 7 years, and the rest of the operation will be bringing net income.
Experts have counted many advantages of such a satellite, including improving the quality and increasing the reliability of communication, involvement of regional consumers, the presence of many television and radio stations and so on. - 17D-

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
