"Musavat" announced police intervention in the activities of the party in Zagatala
Baku/25.05.19/ Turan: Today, a group of 7-8 police officers came to the parental home of the head of the Musavat party, Arif Hajili, in the Zagatala district.
Breaking the locks of the gate, they entered the courtyard, the press service of the party.
Police officers asked the neighbors where were A.Hajili"s brothers Vagif and Mustafa Hajibeyli. They replied that the brothers were in Baku.
Police representatives said that a meeting of the local organization Musavat was planned in this house and they would not allow it.
Police officers later announced this by calling the head of the Musavat district organization Saleh Soltanov. The police warned that if there were an attempt to hold a meeting, the activists would be arrested.
The press service said that on May 25, in the village of Tala, in the father"s house of the Hajili family, a meeting was planned, at which the election of delegates to the ninth Musavat congress is expected.
The party notes that the police have no right to interfere in politics and political activity.
Because the offices of local organizations "Musavat" were taken by the authorities, activists have to hold meetings at home.
"Declaring reforms in words, in practice, the authorities are pushing the country into civil confrontation, crossing the "red lines". Now the police attack our father's house in Zagatala," said Hajili on his facebook page.
The press service of the party said that on May 25, in accordance with the charter, a meeting would be held for preparation for the congress.
