National Council discusses preparations for municipal elections
A meeting of the coordinating council of the National Council of Democratic Forces (NCDF) discussed today the political situation in the country. The meeting participants condemned the criminal proceedings against civil society activist in Ganja, Hasan Huseynli. It was noted that he is persecuted for social activities.
The National Council also condemned the inhuman treatment of the activists of NIDA Movement, whom the employees of the Penitentiary Service poisoned with gas in the car.
The participants stressed the need to strengthen cooperation with the European institutions, and raised the issues of preparation for the municipal elections and the improvement of electoral legislation and practice.
It was decided to admit to the National Council new members, and was stressed the need for more efficient use of organizations already represented in the National Council.-05D-
