The National Council adopted a statement in connection with the illegal arrests of the last few days, and also supported a single list of political prisoners.
The National Council declares that it supports the list and will constantly monitor the fate of those who are included in it.
The National Council calls on the authorities of Azerbaijan to immediate release of all those arrested and declares that it will mobilize all opportunities for this, permitted by law.
"The main purpose of these arrests is to keep people at bay, destroy the institutions of civil society and opposition political forces.
We have no right to lose heart and fall in despair. We have only one way - to continue to fight for the sake of present and future generations who have to live in a free and democratic country," the statement by the National Council reads. -03D04-

On September 1, 1,489 people applied to the district election commissions to nominate candidates for deputies in the early elections to the Milli Majlis.
