NATO sees Azerbaijan as a strategic partner
Warsaw NATO summit demonstrated the strength of the Alliance and its commitment to develop relationships with partners, said on Wednesday the Romanian Ambassador in Baku Daniel Cristian Ciobanu at the event dedicated to the results of the NATO summit. Embassy of Romania, as NATO coordinator in Azerbaijan, organized an event with the participation of representatives of academia, civil society, as well as the embassies of the countries of the North Atlantic Alliance and its partners. Romanian ambassador called the results of the summit "successful." He noted that the summit communiqué pointed out that NATO will maintain an independent and sovereign choice of its partners in foreign policy and security.
Referring to the Alliance's relations with Azerbaijan, Ciobanu stressed that NATO attaches to these relations of strategic importance, calling Azerbaijan a reliable partner of the Alliance. He reminded that NATO supports the territorial integrity and independence of Azerbaijan. Romania, for its part, actively contributes to the deepening of relations of Baku with NATO.
During the meeting the sides exchanged views on prospects of relations between Azerbaijan and NATO, reception of new members to the alliance, the role of the organization in providing security on the European continent. -06D-
