Navy ships of Azerbaijan in Astrakhan
Navy ships of Azerbaijan for the first time will arrive in Astrakhan on an unofficial visit tomorrow. About this ITAR - TASS was reported by the Caspian Flotilla Deputy Commander of the Russian Federation Alexander Prokhorov.
"The navy ships left the port of Baku, Azerbaijan. Now they are accompanied by our small artillery ship Volgodonsk. On Wednesday, the guests will arrive at the port of Astrakhan," said Prokhorov.
Astrakhan will be visited by three warships, among them - a patrol boat of Project 159 A and a management ship of Project 888. The detachment is led by Navy Commander of Azerbaijan, Vice Admiral Shahin Sultanov.
As the press service of the Southern Military District said, the program of the one-day visit includes a meeting with the commander of the Caspian Flotilla and the leadership of the Astrakhan region.
For two hours the warships of Azerbaijan will open the "door" to the public, who will be able to take photos and observe the cabins and the wheelhouses.
Representatives of the Russian Caspian Flotilla have made several visits to Azerbaijan.
This year, the missile ship Dagestan and the small artillery ship Volgodonsk were in Baku in early August. -16B-
