Negotiations of the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Turkey
The newly elected president of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan is on a two-day visit to Azerbaijan. Before flying to Baku, Erdogan told reporters that the first visit to Azerbaijan after the election has become a tradition for the Turkish leadership. In Baku the sides will discuss cooperation, as well as an exchange of views on regional and international issues.
Next Erdogan recalled implementation of joint strategic projects: the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline and the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline. He also pointed to work together on the project of the pipeline TANAP and the railroad Baku-Tbilisi-Kars. They will also discuss the Karabakh settlement.
Erdogan expressed his conviction that the relations of friendship and brotherhood between Azerbaijan and Turkey will continue to deepen.
On September 3 the residence of the President of Azerbaijan hosted the ceremony meeting between Aliyev and Erdogan, after which negotiations began between the two leaders. -16D-

Kazakhstan's Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Alim Bayel, expressed his condolences following the tragic crash of a passenger plane in Aktau. In a statement issued on behalf of the Kazakh Embassy in Azerbaijan, Bayel extended sympathies to the victims' families and wished a swift recovery to those injured, saying, "May their souls rest in paradise."
