New leadership of "REAL" Party formed
Baku/06.11.23/Turan: The congress of the Republican Alternative Party ("REAL|) held on 5 November amended the charter and programme of the organisation, bringing them in line with the new Law on Political Parties.
In addition, 8 members of the political committee of the Party, 6 members of the political initiatives commission and 3 members of the control and revision commission were elected.
The new political committee consists of Natig Jafarli, Rasul Jafarov, Elchin Aliyev, Zohrab Aliyev, Togrul Iskenderli, Erkin Gadirli, Mahmud Mahmudov and Ilgar Mammadov.
The political committee will elect the Party chairman from its ranks. "Republican Alternative" was established as a movement against the cancellation of the restriction on one person staying in the post of President for an unlimited time in 2009. In 2018, the movement was transformed into a Party.
Add that the Party was registered in 2020 and re-registered in 2023 due to the requirements of the new Law on Political Parties. The Party is chaired by former political prisoner Ilgar Mammadov. -06D-

According to the Turkish newspaper Sabah, officials from the Istanbul Prosecutor's Office's Anti-Smuggling Unit have detained an Azerbaijani citizen with a large shipment of gold. The detention took place near the Vadi İstanbul shopping center in the Sarıyer district, where a taxi was stopped. During the search, 70 kg of gold was found. The Azerbaijani citizen in the vehicle claimed ownership of the cargo and also stated that he was a diplomat. The investigation by the prosecutor's office is ongoing, reports Sabah newspaper. The media outlet does not disclose the name of the "diplomat," only his initials – M.G.Ş. The Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs has declined to comment on the situation.
