New Russian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Briefed in Moscow Patriarchate
Moscow / 08.05.18 / Turan: On May 8 the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill met with the newly appointed Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Azerbaijan Bocharnikov, the Patriarchate's press release said.
"During the conversation, topical issues of church-state interaction in Azerbaijan were discussed," it was reported.
This message may give the impression that the main direction of the future functions of the Ambassador will be church activity.
The Russian Foreign Ministry does not say anything about the appointment of Bocharnikov. From the press reports it is known that earlier he was the Russian Ambassador to Kazakhstan.-02D-
