Novruz Mammadov: Nalbandian - Misinformer
Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Novruz Mammadov refuted the statement of the Foreign Minister of Armenia, Yerevan, is ready to accept that the six principles of the Karabakh settlement, if Azerbaijan is also prepared to accept it.
In an interview with a number of pro-government media, Mamedov called this statement "another ploy of the Armenian side."
On the eve of the Krakow meeting of foreign ministers from the two countries, Nalbandian is trying to mislead the international community and to represent the constructive side of Armenia, he said.
Regarding the position of the international community and the co-chairs of the Minsk Group OSCE, Mamedov said that they are limited to statements about the unacceptability of the status quo, and Armenia, using this, are delaying the settlement.
Commenting on Russia to stop the transit of Azerbaijani oil via the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline, Mammadov said that the decision is economic in nature and does not affect the bilateral relationship.
Speaking about the arrest in Iran of Azerbaijani writer Khalida Khalid and her driver, Mammadov expressed regret because "such incidents do not contribute to the development of bilateral relations."
Mammadov said that the head of the presidential administration Mehdiyev recently visited Iran after insistent invitation by the Iranian side. The main outcome of the talks was the focus on the development, extension and strengthening of the bilateral relations. Therefore, the arrest of Khalid was contrary to the spirit of Mehdiyev's visit to Iran.
Baku waits for Iran to clarify the details of this matter. Mammadov expressed a hope that the incident will be settled. -06D-
