Novruz Mammadov Tells Congressmen about Democracy
Baku / 03.05.18 / Turan: On May 3, Prime Minister Novruz Mammadov received the delegation of the US Congress in Azerbaijan.
Mammadov noted the importance of the visit of the congressmen for the development of the bilateral relations.
As the head of government underlined, during the years of independence the relations between the two countries were "very good" and "today they are developing successfully". In several sensitive areas there is a very strong and close cooperation, Mammadov continued.
"Azerbaijan, which is on a democratic path today, remains faithful to this course. Relations with the US and the EU are continuing successfully," Mammadov said.
The head of the US delegation, Robert Goodlat (Chairman of the Committee on Judicial Power), noted the high level of relations between the two countries. According to him, cooperation with Azerbaijan is very valuable for the United States.
During the meeting, issues of expansion of trade and economic relations and other topics of mutual interest were discussed.-06D-

The next municipal elections in Azerbaijan will take place on January 29, 2025, Mazahir Panahov, the head of the Central Election Commission (CEC), said at a meeting of the commission.
