Official Baku on Direct Communication with Yerevan
Baku / 10.25.18 / Turan: The operational communication between Baku and Yerevan is not established at the level of the Heads of State, Foreign Ministers or Defense Ministers. It operates at a lower level. The deputy head of the Presidential Administration"s Foreign Policy Department Hikmet Hajiyev told reporters today.
According to him, the communication is used "in operational cases within the appropriate framework," without specifying the framework meant.
Commenting on the latest statement by the Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on the need for the participation of Karabakh Armenians in the negotiations to resolve the conflict, Hajiyev called this statement "unacceptable".
"This does not serve to resolve the conflict, but on the contrary, heightens tension," he said, adding that such rhetoric "is contrary to the spirit of the conversation between the heads of state in Dushanbe." -02D-
