VIENNA/WARSAW, 28 March 2022 — The OSCE Chairman-in-Office and Poland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs Zbigniew Rau will visit Georgia, Azerbaijan and Armenia from 29 March to 1 April for meetings with high-level officials.
In Georgia, Minister Rau will meet with President Salome Zourabichvili, Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, Vice Prime Minister and Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani and First Deputy Chairman of the Parliament Giorgi Volski.
During his visit to Azerbaijan, he will meet with President Ilham Aliyev and Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.
In Armenia, Rau will meet with President Vahagn Khachaturyan, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.
The trip will focus on promoting peaceful cooperation, dialogue, and stability in the South Caucasus region.-0-

On the evening of February 5, it was reported that journalist Shahnaz Beylargizi had been arrested. She had been a presenter on the Toplum TV channel for several years. After a criminal case was initiated against the channel in March 2024 and nearly all of its staff were arrested, Beylargizi was questioned multiple times. According to relatives, the police conducted a search of her apartment.

On February 5, President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree to provide humanitarian aid to Ukraine. According to the document, the Ministry of Energy has been allocated 1 million US dollars to purchase and send electrical equipment, manufactured in Azerbaijan, to Ukraine.
