PACE President called on Baku and Yerevan to step up efforts for sustainable peace
Strasbourg/10.10.22/Turan: President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Tini Cox called on Azerbaijan and Armenia to intensify their efforts to resolve differences and establish peace in the South Caucasus region.
"I call on parliamentarians from Azerbaijan and Armenia to use the Assembly as a platform for discussing sensitive and important issues," the PACE chairman said at a PACE meeting on October 10 in Strasbourg.
It should be noted that at today's meeting, a request to hold separate hearings "on military clashes between Armenia and Azerbaijan" is being discussed. --16D--

On November 19, the Sabail District Court of Baku granted the prosecution's request to extend the pretrial detention of Talysh researcher Iqbal Abilov for another four months, his lawyer, Rovshan Rahimov reported. According to the lawyer, the defense considers Abilov’s detention to be unjustified and disputes the charges brought against him. Abilov himself also rejected the accusations. The defense plans to file an appeal against the court's decision.
