Pashinyan decided to fire the head of the Security Service

Baku/16.09.19/Turan: Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan signed a motion to dismiss Artur Vanetsyan from the post of director of the National Security Service. The corresponding decree will be within one to two days. The Prime Minister said this at a press conference on Monday in Vanadzor.

"We discussed several scenarios of Vanetsyan"s future activities. At the moment, Vanetsyan will focus on the issues of the Armenian national football team reaching the European Championship finals," Sputnik Armenia quoted Pashinyan as saying.

When asked if he was dissatisfied with Vanetsyan"s work, Pashinyan replied, "The work of the head of the National Security Council is not one that can be discussed publicly."

Arthur Vanetsyan, one of the closest persons to Pashinyan, headed the National Security Service of Armenia on May 10, 2018. Vanetsyan worked in the structures of the National Security Service for several years.

He did not disclose whom Pashinyan intended to nominate in his place.

For the entire period of Pashinyan"s reign, this is the loudest resignation, which will certainly have negative consequences for the government.-02D-
