Pashinyan proposes an exchange of enclaves, without specifying on what principle
Baku/11.06.21/Turan: During the pre-election rally in the city of Berd on June 11, the acting Prime Minister of Armenia touched upon the topic of enclaves.
"The enclave should be exchanged for an enclave and what is under the control of Azerbaijan remains under their control, and what is under our control remains under ours," he said.
Pashinyan also stated that there are several tens of square kilometers of the Armenian territories of the Tavush region are under the control of Azerbaijan.
“Today, there are arable lands in our villages that are under their control,” Nikol Pashinyan said. This issue was brought up to the negotiating table, and they said that the issue should be considered, Pashinyan said vaguely.
Armenia captured seven Azerbaijani villages in three enclaves, two enclaves in the Gazakh region and one in the Sharur region of Nakhchivan.
In addition, the Armenians occupied the border areas of Gazakh and Sharur. Therefore, Pashinyan's proposal to exchange one enclave - Artsvashen (Bashkend) for three, looks illogical. Considering that this statement was made in the Berd region of Armenia, bordering on Gazakh, it can be regarded as an election campaign. -02D-
