Peskov on the importance of trilateral agreements on Karabakh
Baku/19.04.23/Turan: The trilateral agreements of the Russian Federation, Azerbaijan and Armenia on Nagorno-Karabakh are the only real basis for resolving the situation, their implementation is necessary, the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov stated at a briefing on Wednesday.
"We are ready to welcome any steps by the parties that can lead to a defusing of tension and that will contribute to further progress towards the implementation of the trilateral agreements," Peskov said, commenting on the latest statements by the Azerbaijani and Armenian sides.
According to him, the trilateral agreements "are now the only real, realistic basis for a settlement." "Therefore, we consider progress towards the implementation of all provisions to be uncontested and necessary for everyone," Peskov was quoted as saying by the TASS news agency.
Earlier, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev offered the Armenians of Karabakh to take Azerbaijani citizenship or leave Karabakh. Prior to that, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that Yerevan fully recognizes the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. ---02D---
