PFPA: “Ali Karimli the fifth day in the information blockade”
Baku/18.04.20/Turan: For five days the leader of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA) Ali Kerimli has been disconnected cellular and landline telephony, as well as the Internet.
An information blockade is being applied against the party chair, according to the Party.
“Because of this blockade, Karimli and his family members can’t even leave the house; go for bread, other food and medicine. Because the cellular connection is disabled, and they cannot send calls to 8103 to obtain permission. And the activists who come home to Karimli are then arrested,” the statement said.
In turn, the head of the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Ehsan Zahidov told Turan that if Karimli had problems with mobile or city telephone communications, then they should contact the relevant structures.
“Let him go to the telephone exchange, or mobile operator. Sometimes my network disappears (on a mobile phone),” Zahidov said.
At the same time, a representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said that not a single member of the Popular Front Party was arrested for political reasons. According to him, those arrested were brought to administrative responsibility for violating the quarantine regime.
In recent days, about 10 activists have been arrested in Azerbaijan on charges of violating the quarantine regime, and most of them are members of the PFPA. -06В-
