Pickets in front of the French Embassy and the OSCE Mission
Today at about 17:00 the pro-government Union of Student Organizations of Azerbaijan held in picket in front of the OSCE Office in Baku to protest the beating of two Azerbaijani students at the event, organized by the Armenian Diaspora in the French National Assembly.
Participants of the rally chanted slogans condemning the aggression and assault against Azerbaijani students calling to commemorate the victims of the Khojaly genocide.
The Head of the Union, Shahin Ismayilov, gave the OSCE representative a resolution of the picket, which demands to punish those responsible.
The action in front of the OSCE mission was because the human rights and safety are the top priority of the organization.
Prior to this action the Union picketed the French Embassy, however the embassy did not accept the resolution. Both actions were conducted without incident or interference of police.-16D-

On February 13, the Appeal Court did not satisfy the defense's appeal against the decision of the Khatai Court regarding the arrest of journalist Shahnaz Beylargizi. According to the lawyer, the journalist herself did not participate in the trial due to poor health. The defense intends to submit a petition to replace the arrest with house arrest.
