Georgian President leaves Nakhchivan
At 17:00 the Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili and his entourage left the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, where they arrived today at 08:00 in the morning on an official visit to Azerbaijan.
According to the regional correspondent of Turan, Saakashvili met at the airport with the head of the Supreme Majlis of Nakhchivan Vasif Talibov and other officials.
After the arrival the guests went to the new residence for visiting dignitaries, becoming its first guests.
Then there was meeting of Saakashvili with Talibov; then Georgian President laid a wreath at the bust of Heydar Aliyev, and visited a medical sanatorium "Duzdag."
In connection with the arrival of the Georgian delegation, all roads in Nakhchivan were closed, and the cars were removed from the streets. The roads were patrolled by police and plainclothes officials, local residents were even forbidden to cross the street.
Nothing is reported about the visit of Saakashvili, and observers speculate what does the fighter for democracy need in the authoritarian Nakhchivan?
