P.Mone: France does not encourage separatism
The head of the group of friendship with Azerbaijan of the French Senate, Nathalie Goulet, requested the Government of France to investigate the legality of the agreements signed by the mayors of a number of French cities with the leader of Karabakh separatists Bako Sahakyan during his recent visit to this country. This was announced today at a meeting with journalists, Ambassador of France to Azerbaijan Pascal Monnier.
The ambassador said that he informed the Government of his country on the invitation of the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan, and the note of protest in connection with the visit of Sahakian to France.
According to Monier, France does not encourage separatism, and is sympathetic to the concerns of Azerbaijan. At the same time, the French government cannot prevent contacts between individuals, Monnier said, making it clear that Sahakyan was adopted as an individual. –06В-
