Political consultations between Foreign Ministries of Azerbaijan and Russia
The next round of political consultations between the Foreign Ministries of Azerbaijan and Russia was held in Moscow on 23 July.
The delegations of the sides were headed by Deputy Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Russia - Samir Sharifov and Mikhail Galuzin.
The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry's press service reports that ‘a broad exchange of views was held on the current state and prospects of development of bilateral cooperation, international and regional issues and other topics of mutual interest.
The meeting stressed with satisfaction that the high-level political dialogue between the leaders of the two countries, based on mutual trust and forming a bilateral agenda, is the basis for allied interaction
During the consultations, the sides also discussed issues of trade-economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation, interaction in international and regional organisations and formats.
In addition, the sides reviewed the legal framework of co-operation and joint projects currently under consideration.
A day earlier, Sharifov met with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko.
During the meeting, they exchanged views on international and regional security issues, as well as cooperation within regional formats.

The current situation and dynamics of co-operation on Caspian issues were discussed at Sharifov's meeting with Mikhail Petrakov, special representative of the President of the Russian Federation and head of the Russian delegation to the Caspian Sea negotiations.
