Presidents of Azerbaijan and Bulgaria to launch Greece-Bulgaria intercorrector
Baku/30.09.22/Turan: Azerbaijan and Bulgaria are strategic partners, the head of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev said on Friday during his official visit to Sophia.
“Azerbaijan, as a reliable gas supplier, is an important country for Europe. We also show great interest in the European market, including the markets of Bulgaria and neighboring countries,” Aliyev said at a meeting with Bulgarian President Rumen Radev.
The implementation of the "Middle Corridor" and the East-West Transport Corridor will closely link both countries, Aliyev said. On October 1, the Greece-Bulgaria intercorrector will start operating in Bulgaria, through which Azerbaijani gas will begin to flow to Bulgaria, Aliyev said. In turn, Radev noted that "Azerbaijan is a reliable and proven partner for Bulgaria."
“We will open the Greece-Bulgaria interconnector, which is of strategic importance for us and for the European continent. We will receive natural gas from Azerbaijan, which will enhance our energy security," Radev said. --02D--
