Prime Minister Ali Asadov spoke in Tbilisi about the role of the Middle Corridor
Baku/26.10.23/Turan: Azerbaijan and Georgia continue to play the role of a bridge in trade and economic ties between Europe and Asia today, as throughout history, Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov said at the Silk Road International Conference in Tbilisi today.
The terms of cargo delivery along the Middle Corridor from Kazakhstan to the ports of Georgia have significantly decreased compared to previous years. The goal for the next year is to reduce this period by half (up to 11-15 days). Active work is underway to increase the cargo handling capacity of the Baku International Commercial Sea Port from 15 million to 25 million tons per year.
The issue of creating a new port infrastructure is on the agenda of Azerbaijani-Georgian cooperation, and the Azerbaijani side is ready to cooperate in this direction as well.
Ali Asadov noted that the new realities in the region create good conditions for multilateral cooperation in the region to reach a qualitatively new level and will bring economic and commercial dividends to all countries of the region.
The joint projects implemented by Azerbaijan and Georgia make a significant contribution to the energy security of Europe, and in the future the volume of Azerbaijani gas transported to Europe via the Southern Gas Corridor will be doubled, at the same time the construction of a "green" energy bridge to Europe has begun. --0--
