Pro-government media "identified and investigated" a network of "Iranian spies"
Baku/13.03.23/Turan: As a result of a special operation of law enforcement agencies, 32 people who carried out acts of sabotage under the "veil of religion" were detained in Azerbaijan, the pro-government media of the country reported on March 13.
Without specifying the source of the information, they report the names of the detainees: Nahid Kahramanov, Rustam Ismailov, Bahruz Karimov, Elvin Nasirov, Samir Isayev, Nihat Khalilov, Maarif Agayev, Sakif Agabalayev, Elnur Meybullayev, Rza Rzayev, Tural Veliyev, Bakhtiar Babashov, Mehman Fataliyev, Murad Abdullayev, Eldaniz Agayev, Amal Akhmedov, Jeyhun Ilyasov, Tural Hasanov, Hilal Asadov, Nariman Bakhishov, Anar Khalilov, Ilgar Musayev, Shahin Verdiyev, Hasil Rustamov, Ismail Ismailov, Elvin Guliyev, Ulvi Aliyev, Vusal Alish, Nizami Akhmedov, Rakhid Ibishov, Mansur Velishov and Rovshan Jabbarov. Photos of several of the above-mentioned persons are also attached to the message.
"These people carried out propaganda in favor of Iran on social networks, as well as at religious meetings, performing tasks from abroad, in order to undermine the traditions of tolerance that have developed in Azerbaijan. They called for the creation of the "Karim" state, openly called for a violent change in the constitutional order of Azerbaijan, fulfilling orders from foreign intelligence services, propagandized religious radicalism.
The investigation found that they purposefully organized the sale of drugs sent from Iran and used the money received to promote religious radicalism and finance subversive activities," the message says, without specifying the source.
It should be noted that so far the law enforcement agencies have not made an official statement on this matter. --02D--
