Prosecutor General's Office Announces International Wanted List of Commanders of Gurgen Alaverdyan
Baku / 10.09.10 / Turan: Crimes committed against civilians in the Khanlyglar village of the Gazakh region, as well as the villages of Agdam and Dondar-Gushchu of the Tovuz region, were planned and committed by the Armenian Armed Forces from July 12 to August 23.
The Azerbaijani Prosecutor General's Office reports that the captured Armenian saboteur, officer Gurgen Alaverdyan, who took part in the sabotage as a platoon commander, testified during the investigation that the sabotage on 23 August was committed at the direction of his commander Vazgen Vartanyan.
Gurgen Alaverdyan and Armen Jamalyan, together with a group of soldiers, were to attack the defensive positions of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces and settlements, causing panic among civilians.
A criminal case was initiated against Vazgen Vartanyan and Armen Jamalyan under articles on espionage, illegal crossing of the state border of Azerbaijan, attempted terror and a number of others.
On the basis of these materials, the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan announced the indicated persons on the international wanted list through Interpol, the report says. -02D-
