Protest Action in Front of Azerbaijani Embassy in Prague
Yesterday in Prague before the embassy of Azerbaijan, a protest was held against the arrest of human rights defenders. The action was organized by the Czech organization NESEHNUTI. The participants were holding torches and photos of political prisoners, as well as a poster with the slogan: "The lack of freedom in Azerbaijan burns us."
The protesters demanded the immediate and unconditional release of all the 100 political prisoners in the country. "We burn Azerbaijani oil, but the lack of freedom in this country burns us," said a participant Peter Tkach.
NESEHNUTI also collected signatures on a petition to the President of Azerbaijan to release the human rights defenders Rasul Jafarov and Intigam Aliyev.
They also called on MEPs to support the appeal for the release of all arrested human rights defenders. -16D-
