Provocation of Armenians in Kalbajar prevented
Baku/02.06.21/Turan: On June 1, at about 20:00, approximately 40 Armenian soldiers violated the border of Azerbaijan in the Kalbajar region and advanced 400 meters in the direction of the village of Armudlu. They took up positions in the terrain with the geographical coordinates of 40 degrees 04 minutes 30 seconds north latitude, 45 degrees 54 minutes 42 seconds east longitude.
The Azerbaijani Armed Forces managed to expel the Armenian military from Azerbaijani territory, a joint press release by the Ministry of Defense and the State Border Service of Azerbaijan on June 2.
No weapons were used during the withdrawal of the Armenian military units.
“The invasion of the Armenian Armed Forces into the territory of Azerbaijan is another provocation, the responsibility for which lies with the Armenian side. The incident once again shows that Armenia seeks to aggravate the situation along the state border of the two countries, despite the calls of the international community to resolve border issues through dialogue.
Azerbaijan will continue to prevent by decisive measures the violations of the state border of Azerbaijan. Armenia must act responsibly, respect the borders and territorial integrity of neighboring states and refrain from provocations that can aggravate the situation in the region,” the press release says. –06D-
