Baku / 01.08.18 / Turan: At noon on September 1, a meeting of the Presidents of Russia and Azerbaijan began in Sochi.
As the press service of the Kremlin reported, welcoming Ilham Aliyev, Vladimir Putin said the interaction between the two countries is a strategic partnership.
"Last year, the trade turnover grew by 34%, and in the first half of this year, sales of civilian products increased by 20%.
Naturally, we always have something to talk about, and I'm very glad that you accepted our invitation and came to Russia today," Putin said.
In response, Ilham Aliyev said the meetings of the two leaders give dynamism to the bilateral relations.
"We are also satisfied with the level of development of our ties in all spheres. The relations develop fully and very effectively, with an active political dialogue.
You noted the growth in trade turnover, which speaks about positive trends in the economies of our countries, and also that there is a great potential for economic cooperation. I am confident that trade will grow in the years to come.
We cooperate in the energy sector and in the transport sector.
Of course, today we will also discuss issues related to the settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, regional issues.
So the agenda is quite extensive. I am confident that our meeting today will give an additional impetus to our relations," Aliyev said. -02D-
