Putin on Karabakh: We will seek an acceptable solution
Russia will make every effort to resolve the situation in Karabakh, Russian President Putin said during a "hot line" with the Russians. Russia will seek acceptable solutions for both sides. The agreements must be long-term and are should be found exclusively through political means, said Putin. Russia, he said, is extremely interested in resolving the conflict, and is committed to a full-fledged relations with all parties. "We want you to work both with Azerbaijan and Armenia," he said, recalling that "a very large number of Armenians and Azerbaijanis" live in Russia. "The account goes on millions," the president said. He added that he knew some Armenians and Azerbaijanis, who continue to maintain good relations with each other, "in spite of the tragic events." Russia will contribute to the settlement of the conflict, but the final word belongs to the peoples of Armenia and Azerbaijan, he said. -02D-
