Reception in Honor of National Holiday of Germany
The German Embassy in Baku on 4 October organized an official reception to mark the national holiday - the 26-year anniversary of German Unity Day. The event was attended by officials, MPs, diplomats, representatives of the media and the public.
Ambassador Michael Kindsgrab in his speech spoke about the history of the holiday, on the existing relations between the two countries and expressed confidence in their further strengthening.
According to him, the two countries are partners in the field of economy. "In the CIS, Azerbaijan is the second country in which the Chamber of Commerce of Germany operates.”
“We are ready to contribute to the development of Azerbaijan's economy and intend to further develop the existing relationship,” the diplomat said, stressing that he would do everything possible to do as ambassador.
Speaking further, the Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Mahmud Mammadguliyev stressed the dynamic development of relations between the two countries. According to him, Azerbaijan has conducted serious economic reforms. "I think that in this area we can cooperate well with our German partners. In this sense, we can consider the establishment of an intergovernmental commission,” he said.
The diplomat also touched upon the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, noting Germany's activity in connection with the chairmanship of the OSCE. -16D04-
