Robert Kocharian Not Allowed to Hold Press Conference
Yerevan / 14.08.18 / Turan: On Tuesday, the ex-President of Armenia released on the eve tried to hold a press conference at 12:00, but dozens of his opponents disrupted the event, Radio Liberty reported.
Participants in the protest rally "Hello, Rob," chanting "Kocharyan, the Murderer," entered the Erebuni Plaza building in Yerevan and climbed into the hall where Kocharyan's press conference was scheduled.
"Citizens of the Republic of Armenia have regained their confidence, and we are not going to tolerate injustice and murderers in our country. Overcoming injustice in Armenia will not be easy. Hello, Rob," one of the protesters David Petrosyan said. Participants of the action took the hall, announcing that the press conference had been disrupted.
Kocharyan himself did not appear on the scene and his representatives have not made any comments so far.
Recall that the appellate court on the eve granted the motion of Robert Kocharian"s lawyers, reversing the decision of the first instance court and releasing the ex-President from custody.
The second Armenian President Robert Kocharian was charged with overthrowing the constitutional order in the criminal case on the bloody events of March 1-2, 2008. On July 27, the first instance court selected an arrest for him as a preventive measure for a period of two months. -02D-

The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) today issued five rulings on applications from Azerbaijan. The case of "Afgan Mammadov v. Azerbaijan" concerned the complainant's exclusion from the Bar Association. Mammadov was expelled based on a complaint filed by a colleague, which he considered unjust. The ECHR ruled that Mammadov's rights had been violated and ordered Azerbaijan to pay him €5,000 in compensation for moral damage and €1,000 to cover legal costs.

During the ongoing COP29 climate conference in Baku on November 14, a group of activists staged a protest condemning Russia's aggression against Ukraine. The activists also denounced countries that supply oil and weapons to nations waging aggressive wars. The protest featured placards with slogans such as: "From fossil fuels to peace!", "End war crimes!", "Punish the aggressor!", and "Phase out fossil fuel use to achieve peace!" among others.
