Rouhani: Iran is determined to deepen relations with Armenia
Baku / 03.07.19 / Turan: Tehran is determined to develop and deepen relations with Yerevan in the political and economic spheres, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said on July 3, receiving Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mger Grigoryan in Tehran.
"The relations of the Iranian people with Armenia have always been friendly, and we want them to strengthen and develop even more," the agency IRNA quotes Rouhani.
He noted that Iran always seeks to have good relations with its neighbors, in particular with Armenia. At the same time, he noted the importance of accelerating the implementation of joint projects and expanding bilateral relations. In particular, he noted the importance of strengthening banking cooperation between Tehran and Yerevan, stressing that the transition to national currencies in mutual settlements will lead to an increase in the volume of trade.
Rouhani also recalled that in June, the Iranian parliament ratified the agreement on a free trade zone with the Eurasian Economic Union, which provides a good opportunity to expand Iran"s cooperation with Eurasian countries. -02D-

On November 25, the Khatai District Court considered the complaint filed by Farid Mehralizade, an economist arrested in connection with the “Abzas Media” case. He challenged the actions of the investigative authorities during a search of his apartment and the confiscation of his belongings. Rashad Melikzade, the former head of the financial department at the Training and Education Center of the Ministry of Defense and a lieutenant colonel, has been sentenced to 10 years and 6 months in prison. The verdict was issued on Monday by the Baku Serious Crimes Court. The court also ordered the seizure of property belonging to Melikzade and his family, valued at 2 million manats, to compensate for the damage caused to the state.
