Russian fighters fly to Syria via the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea
Six Russian fighters Su-34 fly to the Syrian Latakia airport, reported edition of The Aviationist, based on photos from the event. On one of them you can see a low-flying aircraft with the characteristic profile of the Su-34. On the other - flight in the sky Group of Su-34, led by Tu-154 Russian Defense Ministry (the latter appeared in Latakia a few times over the last week.) The newspaper noted, the Tu-154 with the code RFF7085 arrived in Latakia on September 28 through the airspace of Iran and Iraq. Taking off from a military airfield in Mozdok (North Caucasus), the aircraft headed towards the Caspian Sea, then they turned to the south and along the coast of Azerbaijan flew to Iran. In the area of Anzali they turned towards the north of Iraq. "Did the Su-34 have all the required diplomatic permits to fly to the north of Baghdad, or whether they simply "slipped" into Syria on the tail of the transport plane?" asks the publication. On September 22, the Pentagon reported that Russian combat aircraft (presumably the Su-30SM, Su-24M and Su-25) appeared at the airport Latakia. There are not official comments of Moscow about the appearance of the Russian air force in Syria. -02D-
