Secretary General of Council of Europe Calls for Release of Ilgar Mamedov
The Secretary General of the Council of Europe Torbjörn Jagland sent a letter to the Minister of Justice of Azerbaijan Fikret Mamedov, which expressed concern about the pressure on the leader of the movement REAL Ilgar Mamedov imprisoned in Jail No 6.
He also called for the immediate and unconditional execution of decisions of the European Court of Human Rights to release Mamedov, said the movement REAL.
Note that Jagland has twice appealed to Azerbaijani authorities demanding an end to the illegal persecution of Mamedov and his release.
Recall that last week Mamedov was attacked by other inmates, which caused him injury. Yesterday Mamedov's lawyer Fuad Agayev told about the threats to the life of the leader of REAL sentenced to 7 years on fabricated charges of organizing riots in Ismayilli on 23-24 January 2013. -1606D-
