Serj Sargsyan will be arrested, his son-in-law believes

Yerevan/17.08.19/Turan: Ex-President of Armenia Serj Sargsyan may soon be arrested: this is the logic of the actions of the current authorities, said his son-in-law, the former Armenian ambassador to the Vatican, Mikael Minasyan.

According to Sputnik Armenia, on the eve of Minasyan, on his Facebook page, he wrote that in April-May 2018, there was not a revolution in Armenia that was objectively ripe, but a change of power. According to him, "now the most dangerous thing can begin - to form a deep social disappointment with extremely sad consequences."

The current government, led by Nikol Pashinyan, amid a shortage of professional personnel, "there is nothing left but to resort to new repressions in order to maintain power," he said.

"The whole logic of the activities of this government and a substantial part of state resources are spent on charges and arrests.

"The authorities have one long-planned, planned" gold reserve "of the mega-district: this is the arrest of Serj Sargsyan ... A simple calculation suggests that in the near future Serj Sargsyan will be arrested in order to distract the public from real problems for some time to come," he said Minasyan.

This will sober up society, and the authorities will use up the last opportunities to use the tool of repression.

Moreover, according to Minasyan, the authorities will not limit themselves to only detaining the ex-president, but "will come up with something to arrest one or two generals," in particular Samvel Karapetyan, as evidenced by information leak in the Western media (they mean an article by the Russian Air Force service in the "March 1 case." - Ed.).

Minasyan did not rule out that he himself would be arrested. According to him, from the very moment of the formation of the new government, inspections of all companies associated with him and his relatives began. -02D-
