Summit Russia - Azerbaijan - Iran will be held in Russia
Moscow/17.08.19/Turan: The postponed Russia-Azerbaijan-Iran summit will be held in Russia; however, there are no new dates for its holding. Presidential Aide Yuri Ushakov told reporters about this.
"We moved it for practical reasons and agreed with partners to agree on a new date for its holding, although it is clear that it will be held in our country," TASS quoted Ushakov as saying.
The postponement of the tripartite summit scheduled for August 14 in Sochi took place "for technical reasons," a spokesperson for Russian President Peskov said earlier.
The negotiations in the Russia-Azerbaijan-Iran format were held for the first time in August 2016 in Baku. The main topics of discussion at that time were joint economic projects and regional security issues. Following the summit, the parties adopted a joint declaration in which they confirmed their intention to develop trilateral cooperation.
The next Russia-Iran-Azerbaijan summit was held on November 1, 2017 in Tehran. The leaders of the three countries discussed a wide range of issues, including energy cooperation, the Syrian settlement and cooperation in the Caspian. Then Russian President Vladimir Putin invited his colleagues to the next trilateral summit in Russia. -02D-
