Serzhik Promises to Launch Airport in the Near Future
Yerevan/30.01.13/Turan-ArmInfo: There is no reason for optimism regarding for Armenian- Azerbaijani relations. This was stated by the President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, speaking to voters in the Noyemberyan region.
"We have met several times in the media and statements by the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, saying that Armenia is located in the historical lands of Azerbaijan. This comes from the leader of a state, which has only a 100-year history. This makes it difficult to talk about the possibility of a constructive dialogue. And if negotiations do not achieve a constructive approach, the problem will not be solved," he said.
"Maybe over time the situation will aggravate a little, or on the contrary, improve, but any more, is not expected now. Of course, we all would like to have good relations with our next door neighbor, so that our army does not suffer losses," he said.
"The Stepanakert airport will soon be put into operation and here are no problems. This issue was a subject of discussion due to some international companies prematurely talking about airport operations," said Sargsyan.
According to him, the conditions necessary for the introduction of airport facilities and their operation have been created, and the work is almost complete. "Flights will start in the near future," promised Serzhik. -02D-
