Signing the Azerbaijani-Israeli agreements
Baku/19.04.23/Turan: Investments, innovations, ecology, information, water, energy, agriculture, food industry, pharmaceuticals and biotechnologies, food security, cybersecurity, tourism, small and issues of expanding cooperation in the field of medium-sized businesses and other areas were discussed during the meeting of the Azerbaijani-Israeli Intergovernmental Commission on April 19 in Baku. As a result, a number of documents were signed.
According to the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan, Minister Mikayil Jabbarov, who spoke at the meeting, stressed the dynamic development of Azerbaijani-Israeli relations. He noted that the share of non-oil products in the trade turnover between the two countries is growing: "Nevertheless, it is necessary to diversify trade relations, because there is a large untapped potential for exporting non-oil products from Azerbaijan to Israel," the minister said.
He invited Israeli companies to use the opportunities of the Alat Free Economic Zone, the Baku Commercial Sea Port and implement joint projects.
Following the meeting, a number of bilateral documents were signed: a joint declaration between the Innovation and Digital Development Agency of Azerbaijan and the National Institute of Technological Innovation of Israel; a cooperation agreement between SOCAR and the Israeli company Union Energy; between "Azersu" and the National Water Company of Israel - "Mekorot".
In addition, the Government of Azerbaijan and the Government of Israel signed a program of cooperation in the field of education for 2023-2026. ---16D---
