Special services of Turkic states discuss issues of concerted fight against terrorism
Baku/26.07.22/Turan: The XXIV meeting of the Conference of the Special Services of the Turkic States is being held in the city of Cholpon-Ata, Issyk-Kul region of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The meeting attendees are discussing issues of joint fight against terrorism, the official website of the President of Kyrgyzstan reports.
Azerbaijan is represented at the meeting by the head of the State Security Service Ali Nagiyev and the deputy head of the External Intelligence Service Samir Ismailov.
Also, among the meeting attendees are head of the National Intelligence Agency of Turkey Hakan Fidan, head of the National Security Service of Kyrgyzstan Kamchibek Tashiev, chairman of the National Security Committee of Kazakhstan Yermek Sagimbayev, head of the State Security Service of Uzbekistan Abdusalom Azizov.
The meeting attendees were received by the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov.
The head of state emphasized that the conference has become an important platform for cooperation and interaction in the field of security.
"Today, there is an escalation of terrorist activity in the Middle East and Afghanistan, which endangers the integrity of some states and threatens to spread far beyond these regions, requires special attention from our services. It is clear that important results in the struggle against these threats and challenges can be achieved only as a result of consistent and systematic work, of joint and concerted efforts," the President of Kyrgyzstan noted.
Recall that on May 20, 1998, a protocol was signed between the special services of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Turkey on the establishment of a Conference of Special Service bodies of the Turkic-speaking States (TURKON). Since 2018, the State Security Service of Uzbekistan is a participant of this structure. -03B06-
