Supreme Court Postpones Consideration of Gezal Bayramlis Complaint
Baku / 05.09 / Turan: Appointed on September 5 in the Supreme Court, consideration of the cassation appeal of the Deputy Chairman of the Popular Front Party Gezal Bayramli has been postponed.
The reason for this was the vacation of the judge considering this case. As lawyer Elchin Sadigov told Turan, the date of the hearings will be determined after September 17.
The defense asks the cassation instance to revoke the decisions of the Gazakh and Gyanja Appeals Courts and to stop the criminal case on justifiable grounds.
Bayramli was detained on May 25 after returning from Georgia. She was accused of smuggling currencies, in particular $ 12,000 without a declaration, and sentenced to three years in prison. Bayramli said the money was put by the law enforcers themselves. Human rights organizations have recognized her as a political prisoner. -16D06-
