The checkpoints proposed by Yerevan on the border do not suit Baku
Baku/27.10.22/Turan: Armenia's proposals to establish three checkpoints on the border with Azerbaijan is an imitation of the implementation of the provisions of the tripartite statement of November 10, 2020, Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev stated this on Thursday.
The roads starting from the points proposed by Yerevan are not suitable in terms of relief and climatic conditions for transport communication with Nakhchivan and international transit traffic most of the year.
In addition, checkpoints should open symmetrically by agreement of the parties. However, Armenia did not carry out any agreements with Azerbaijan.
In Mustafayev's view, Armenia's proposal is formal to evade the implementation of the November 10, 2020 agreement on establishing communications between the western regions of Azerbaijan and Armenia.
In violation of paragraph 9 of the tripartite statement, Armenia has not presented the best option for a transport connection between the western regions of Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan. --06B--
