The Court in Turkey annulled the law enhancing control over the justice system
Turkey's Constitutional Court rejected the law previously signed by President Abdullah Gul, providing for greater government control over the judiciary.
According to Turkish TV channel NTV, the court found some points of the law unconstitutional.
The reform was initiated against the background of the corruption scandal in December 2013 . Charges in various acts of corruption were presented to 24 persons involved , including three sons of Cabinet members. Turkish Prime Minister sacked ten ministers after three members of the Cabinet declared resignation in connection with accusations against their sons.
Recall, on February the 12 Turkish government sacked 166 judges at various levels. It happened in accordance with the decision of the Supreme Court.
Judges and prosecutors occupying high positions in Ankara, Istanbul and Izmir were sacked. According to Turkish media, jobs were also lost by about six thousand police officers involved in the corruption scandal. -02D-
