The Court of Appeal refuses to release the activists NİDA
Baku/05.09.13/Turan : On Thursday, the Baku Court of Appeal dismissed the appeals of three arrested youth activists of NIDA Movement: Rashad Hasanov and Bakhtiyar Guliyev. Young people asked to reverse the decision of the Nasimi Court on August 28 to extend their detention for another three months, said the lawyer Asabali Mustafayev .
The young activists who attended the trial said there was not a ground for their detention. However, the court ignored their words.
Seven activists of the NIDA Movement were arrested on charges of preparation of riots with the use of explosives and possession of drugs. Bakhtiyar Guliyev was arrested on 8 March, and Rashad Hasanov on 14 March.
However, the true reason for the persecution of opposition activists is the call to protests against the soldiers' deaths. These actions greatly frightened the authorities who rushed to put away the most active young people in jail.
International human rights organizations have recognized them prisoners of conscience, and repeatedly demanded their immediate release. -16D-

The investigation restricted the rights of the arrested “Toplum TV” journalist Mushvig Jabbar to carry out notarial actions, and in particular to issue a power of attorney to his relatives, his lawyer Nazim Musayev told Turan. The need for a power of attorney is due to the fact that Jabbar purchased a car at an auction abroad before his arrest. While the car was being delivered to Azerbaijan, the journalist was arrested. Since May, the car has been held at customs and a fee is charged for parking. To clear the car, Jabbar must issue a power of attorney to his loved ones. However, the management of the pre-trial detention center refuses, referring to the investigator's ban.

In an interview with “Voice of America”, Chairman of the National Council of Democratic Forces Jamil Hasanli commented on the critical assessments of the OSCE Observation Mission following the results of the early parliamentary elections. According to him, the preliminary conclusion does not just reflect reality, but a fairly complete document. The only organization with a mandate to monitor elections in Europe is the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights. They have prepared a full-fledged document in a few weeks. However, the violations in the elections were much deeper than the OSCE can imagine, Hasanli noted.
