The Court of Appeal refuses to release the activists NİDA
Baku/05.09.13/Turan : On Thursday, the Baku Court of Appeal dismissed the appeals of three arrested youth activists of NIDA Movement: Rashad Hasanov and Bakhtiyar Guliyev. Young people asked to reverse the decision of the Nasimi Court on August 28 to extend their detention for another three months, said the lawyer Asabali Mustafayev .
The young activists who attended the trial said there was not a ground for their detention. However, the court ignored their words.
Seven activists of the NIDA Movement were arrested on charges of preparation of riots with the use of explosives and possession of drugs. Bakhtiyar Guliyev was arrested on 8 March, and Rashad Hasanov on 14 March.
However, the true reason for the persecution of opposition activists is the call to protests against the soldiers' deaths. These actions greatly frightened the authorities who rushed to put away the most active young people in jail.
International human rights organizations have recognized them prisoners of conscience, and repeatedly demanded their immediate release. -16D-
