Today Baku Appeals Court considered the appeal conflictologist Arif Yunus warrant. Arif Yunus presented when considering complaints, Turan was told by his lawyer Khalid Bagirov. The court dismissed the complaint, leaving Yunus under arrest.
On August 7 Yunus was transferred to the detention center of the National Security Ministry. According to the lawyer, no clarification on this matter were presented. The Nasimi district court arrested Arif Yunus for three months. On July 30, he was taken under police supervision, and his wife, the Director of the IMP, Leyla Yunus, was arrested. The couple is accused of treason and other crimes.
International human rights organizations condemned the arrest of the couple, and noted about the political motives of their prosecution. -1606D-
