The European Parliament has set up a group for Nagorno-Karabakh
On October 15 with the assistance of the organization European Friends of Armenia (EuFoA) a group for Nagorno-Karabakh was set up in the European Parliament. It aims to promote the development of civil society and democratic governance, as well as the spread of European values throughout the entire Karabakh, Armenian media reported.
The group is headed by the member of the European People's Party Frank Engel. The group will promote the establishment of contacts between the EU and the Karabakh Armenians, and it will organize European officials’ trips to the region.
The informal group is also interested in the representation of Karabakh in various international groups and EU programs.
"This group has become a body uniting people who have an idea about the region and are interested in it and those who are willing to give themselves at the disposal of the people of Karabakh. We want to inform people about the region still unknown to them and which, in the end, is a democratic republic," Panarmenian quotes Frank Engel.
"Creation of the group is a natural result in some degree of compliance with the provisions adopted by the EU institutions and the EU official documents, which stimulate EU officials to visit Karabakh and to meet with representatives of all levels of the republic," said, in turn, the head of EuFoA Lorenzo Ochoa.
Recall that official Baku includes all the foreigners who visit Nagorno-Karabakh without the permission of Baku into the “black list”. Apparently, this list with be added new names soon. -02D-
