The Foreign Minister discussed the situation in Karabakh with Louis Bono
Baku /09.10.23/Turan: On Tuesday, the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister received the special representative of the US State Department for the South Caucasus, Louis Bono.
According to the Foreign Ministry, the sides exchanged views on the current situation in the region, normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as steps towards the reintegration of Armenians in the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan.
Bayramov informed about the anti-terrorist measures and their causes. He noted the provocative statements made by the Armenian side against the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan, which seriously threaten the peace process.
He also reported on the work on the reintegration of the Armenian residents of Karabakh.
"The departure of Armenian residents from the territory of Azerbaijan took place on the basis of their voluntary and individual decision. There was no forced displacement and it was confirmed by the Prime Minister of Armenia and international organizations," Bayramov said.
In this context, he mentioned the visits of the UN mission to the region and the mission's statements following the trip.
The statements of the Armenian government about the so-called "ethnic cleansing" are aimed at disrupting the process of reintegration of local Armenians of Azerbaijan, Bayramov stressed.
